WE at MANDI
"मंडी थिएटर ग्रुप" is the group of like-minded enthusiasts of 'Traditional Hindi theatre' in the Chicago area.
We are dedicated to producing the "classics" of Indian dramatic literature, which are not accessible to a wide audience, here in Chicago.
We produce & stage intelligent, entertaining as well as thought-provoking plays.
Mandi Theatre is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization with the tax ID number 81-2360681. Donations to MANDI are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
Our mission is three-fold:
- To preserve India's great theatrical tradition.
- To educate,inform and entertain our community via material revolving around social issues and values pertinent to the lives of young people.
- To strengthen the role of 'Traditional Indian Theatre in the arts community of Chicago area and enhance our national reputations.
Our Strength
The strengths of Mandi's brand of theatre are original scripts by Indian and international playwrights (in translation), excellent performances by talented actors, innovative staging techniques, and a wide experience in performing in regular theatres and informal performance spaces.
